Stucco in Philadelphia
Cracked, crumbling stucco? We repair it or put on new so your walls stay protected.
What stucco is and why it matters
Stucco is a hard, cement-based coating spread over the outside of a wall. It works like a protective skin, helping keep rain and wind off the brick, stone or framing underneath. When stucco is in good shape, you barely think about it. When it starts to fail, water works its way in, and small problems turn into big ones. We do both new stucco and stucco repair. We fix the damaged areas, or put on new stucco, so your walls stay protected.
Signs your stucco needs attention
Walk around your house and take a close look. Call us if you see:
- Cracks, from thin hairline lines to wide gaps
- Patches that are loose, bulging or falling off
- Dark stains or streaks that stick around after it rains
- Soft, crumbling spots when you press on the surface
- Damp walls or peeling paint inside, near an outside stucco wall
Caught early, many of these are smaller fixes. Left alone, water keeps getting behind the stucco, and the damage spreads.
How we approach the job
Every repair starts with a close look at the wall. We figure out how far the damage really goes, not just what shows on the surface. Then we clear away loose and failing stucco, prepare the wall underneath, and apply fresh stucco built up in layers. Most stucco jobs take about 2 days.
Some walls need a patch. Others are better off with a larger section redone. We'll tell you straight which one fits your house and why, so there's no guessing. Our crew is courteous, keeps the work area tidy, and cleans up when the job is done.
Stucco repair in Philadelphia homes
Philadelphia houses put stucco to the test. Many older rowhomes, twins and stone houses in Chestnut Hill, Mt. Airy, Germantown and Roxborough have stucco that's been patched, painted over and weathered for decades. Our freeze-thaw winters are hard on it. Water gets into small cracks, freezes, expands and pushes those cracks wider every season. That's why a crack that looks minor in the fall can be a bigger problem by spring.
Vince and the crew know these homes and the way local weather wears on them. Need stucco repair in Philadelphia on a front wall, a side wall that takes the brunt of the weather, or the areas around windows and doors? We'll give you an honest look and a clear plan. We've been doing this work since 1984, and we treat every house like it's on our own block.
Finish the whole outside of your home
Stucco is often one part of a bigger outdoor refresh. Many homeowners pair it with new Concrete Steps, a smooth Concrete Walkway, a backyard Concrete Patio or a fresh Concrete Driveway. See finished work in our project gallery, learn more about Dependable Concrete, or contact us to talk through your project. Every estimate is free.

FAQs
Q: Do you do new stucco or just repairs?
A: Both. We put on new stucco and repair existing stucco.
Q: How long does a stucco job take?
A: Usually about 2 days.
Q: Should I repair or replace my stucco?
A: It depends on how far the damage goes. Small cracks and loose patches can often be repaired. If water has gotten behind a large area, redoing that section may make more sense. We'll show you what we see and explain why.
Q: Can stucco work be done in winter?
A: We do stucco work until it gets cold. When it's below 35°F, we hold off and wait for the temperature to come back up, because stucco needs the right weather to set properly. Call us any time to get on the schedule.
Q: What areas do you serve?
A: All of Philadelphia, especially Chestnut Hill, Mt. Airy, Germantown and Roxborough.
